Roustabout – On-Shore
3-Day Program for On-Shore Oil & Gas Fields
An oil "roustabout" refers to a worker
who maintains all things in the oil field.
·
Sets up oil well
"heads," oil lead lines connected to stock tanks.
·
Maintain
saltwater disposal pumps, lease roads, lease mowing, create dykes around tank
batteries on a lease, etc.
·
Assists in pumper
activities.
·
Tank
installations and repairs.
·
Dig trenches
·
General cleanup
operations
·
Maintain tools
·
Has no limits in
the oil industry and can, and will do any and all oil field work, including
roughneck drilling, oil well completion and well service, and even chemical
work.
Most
go on to at least become “roughnecks” if they work for the rig company for more
than a few months and most “toolpushers” first started as roustabouts.

Abilities:
·
Work in a
potentially hazardous environment
·
Work outdoors in
all weather conditions.
·
Operate a vehicle
safely (in all weather conditions)

Able to walk on
uneven terrain (in all weather conditions) for at least ½ mile
·
Capable of
lifting 80 pounds
·
Work as a team
member with minimal supervision
·
Willing to
perform each and every job in a safe manner
·
Willing to work
rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
Roustabout
Qualifications:
·
High
school diploma or GED
·
Valid
driver’s license
·
Lift
80 pounds
·
Be
able to walk on uneven terrain ½ mile
·
Knowledge
of oil & gas field operations beneficial
